NYSC COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SERVICE

Community Development Service is a programme embodying economic and social objectives. It seeks to identify, coordinate and utilize all available human and material resources within the scheme for the optimum benefit of our community and Nigeria as a whole. The success of the programme lies also with government, private and other relevant institutions. An efficiently operated CDS programme should gradually develop in the corps members and community the spirit of entrepreneurship, provide on-the-job training experience, and a forum for corps members to experiment with ideas and translate them into concrete achievements.

Employers of corps members are required by the NYSC to allow corps members doing their primary assignment with them to attend CDS activities one working day every week.
